The Premier League trio secured their places at the top of their respective groups, earning them spots in Pot 1. The second pot comprised victorious teams that finished second in their groups and those eliminated in third place from the Champions League.

Revered as the standout team in the current Europa League, Liverpool also had luck on their side in determining their Round of 16 opponent. Jürgen Klopp’s team is set to face Sparta Prague from the Czech Republic. While a traditional presence in their home country and a regular contender in European competitions, Sparta Prague has often played the role of an underdog.
Klopp and his team’s challengers secured the second position in Group C, trailing behind Rangers and ahead of Real Betis. In the playoffs, Sparta Prague triumphed over Galatasaray to reach this stage.
